I have been sorting through my yarn stash and pouring over knitting patterns on Ravelry and I still have not found anything that inspires me. I'm in a knitting rut. So after becoming extremely frustrated while playing with yarn, I turned to sewing. Being Saturday afternoon, the kids were napping and I made a pot of jasmine green tea and decided to finish up a pair of pants for my youngest son. These are the Simple Pants from Lotta Jansdotter's "Simple Sewing For Baby" book. I love these pants, they turned out so cute and they fit my little one just right.
Yep, these turned out thank goodness. I needed a little love this afternoon! There isn't an age range for the sizing but my guy is 14 mos. and of average weight/height and these pants look like they will fit up to 18 mos. Fingers crossed.
I bought the fabric at Ikea three years ago and it has been sitting in a box all this time. Before I cut out the pattern pieces I threw it in the washer and dryer so I don't have to worry about shrinkage. This pattern is so versatile, the pants will fit over a cloth diaper and are unisex too.
Once I find a pattern I like I want to make several more to fill out the wardrobe. I also finished up this Bib Kerchief from the same pattern book.
These little kerchiefs are perfect when Baby is teething and you don't want to strap a conventional dinner table bib to his/her chest all day. This fabric is also from Ikea. I will definitely be making more of these since my little one is still teething.
